Live Healthy Iowa’s 100 Day Wellness Challenge Kicks Off January 23
Posted 19 January, 2012
Live
Healthy Iowa’s 100 Day Wellness Challenge kicks off Jan. 23, 2012,
inviting all Iowans to take part. Registration is now open.
The 100 Day Wellness Challenge is a simple and affordable challenge
encouraging Iowans to make healthy choices. Over the course of 100
days, teams (2-10 people) take part in friendly competition tracking
activity minutes and/or weight loss through the Live Healthy Iowa
website.
For $20, participants receive a training T-shirt; weekly motivational
emails; personal tracking, goal-setting, tools and resources; 100 days
of access to TrainingPeaks; health and wellness discounts from across
the state; chance to win team and individual incentives; a one-year
subscription to a lifestyle magazine; and more.
The goal for Live Healthy Iowa is to double participation in the 100
Day Wellness Challenge to 60,000 Iowans in 2012. To help achieve this
goal, the challenge features two new programs this year: a Community
Cup Challenge and a Corporate Cup Challenge. These challenges will
create competition among Iowa’s communities and among Iowa’s companies.
As part of the Corporate Cup Challenge, companies will be segmented
based on size. Winners of each size division will be determined based
on highest percentage of the eligible workforce starting and completing
the Live Healthy Iowa 100 Day Wellness Challenge. Traveling trophies
will be presented to Corporate Cup Challenge winners as well.
The Live Healthy Iowa 100 Day Wellness Challenge works well for
businesses, communities and organizations wishing to begin a wellness
program or to simply enhance an existing wellness program.
Regional Medical Center has accepted the Live Healthy Iowa Corporate
Cup Challenge, in which businesses across Iowa will compete with each
other to improve employee health. RMC is encouraging other local
businesses to do the same. If the challenge will be component of
your organization’s wellness program and has multiple teams
participating, register your team with your assigned Group ID. To
receive a Group ID for the Corporate Cup Challenge, contact Nicole
Bruce at Live Healthy Iowa (Nicole@livehealthyiowa.org).
Brochures are available at Regional Medical Center Information Desk and
the Bob Holtz Wellness Center. Visit www.livehealthyiowa.org to
register a team.
About Live Healthy Iowa Live Healthy Iowa, formerly Lighten Up Iowa,

initiative to address the state’s growing obesity problem. Live Healthy
Iowa brings together friends, families, businesses and communities in
team-based wellness challenges designed to promote positive lifestyle
change. In 2011, more than 152,000 adult and youth Iowans took part in
a Live Healthy Iowa program. To learn more, visit here.
