Winter Weather Advisory Until Noon Today
Posted 21 February 2009
The
National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for Snow and Blowing Snow which is in effect until 12 noon
today, Saturday, Feb. 21. The Winter Storm Warning posted yesterday has
been replaced by this Advisory.
Storm total snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches is expected by midday
today, Saturday. Considerable drifting and some blowing snow is also
expected throughout the day as northwest winds strengthen to 20 to 30
mph.
A Winter Weather Advisory for Snow and Blowing Snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and
blowing snow. Be careful when traveling today, especially in open
areas. The drifting snow will make it difficult for road crews to keep
snow off the roads.
