Flood Cleanup Information
Posted 23 June 2008
State Rep. Steve Lukan (R-New Vienna) reminds area residents who've
sustained flood damage to detail damage to their homes and businesses.
Lukan recommends residents photograph the damage and keep receipts of
any repairs that are made in the event that they are eligible for
recovery assistance.
Dubuque County residents who have sustained damage to property are
asked to call their City Hall or Dubuque County with costs estimates.
The City of Dyersville phone number is 875-7724, or the Dubuque County
number for unincorporated residents is 589-4441.
Grant applications for disaster assistance for low-income households
and step-by-step instructions on how to fill it out can be found on the
front page of the Iowa Department of Human Services Web site at
http://dhs.iowa.gov/ Look for the words "Storm Help" to access
and download the application and instructions. You can also call the
Iowa Department of Human Services toll-free 877-937-3663 for more
information.
Individuals who have water damaged items but were not in areas
physically under water, must call City Hall at 875-7724 to schedule
waste collection.
