Miss
Northeast Iowa Competes in Pageant
Posted 22 June 2008
A Manchester woman currently serving as Miss Northeast Iowa competed
last weekend in the Miss Iowa Pageant in Davenport.
Paige Mundy-Young, 22 of Manchester, was named Miss Northeast Iowa last
fall. The local competition marked the first time the Miss Northeast
Iowa contest was held in 30 years.
Though she was not named one of the top eight finalists in the Miss
Iowa competition, Paige says she enjoyed sharing the experience with
the 15 other young women in the contest.
Paige was awarded the highest point total for the talent competition of
non-finalists and performed her piano piece before a large crowd
Saturday night, June 14. She also received a plaque and a scholarship
award.
Paige will continue working at Wartburg this summer before starting
graduate school in the fall.
Olivia Meyer of Burlington was crowned Miss Iowa 2008, while Epworth
native Jenny Neal received second runner-up honors.
