Accident Kills One
Posted 18 June 2008
One man was killed in Clayton County after being struck by a pickup
truck. It happened while the man and his friend were waiting for a tow
truck to hook up their vehicle along side the road.
According to the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by
Michael Clinton, 22 of Guttenberg, hit a guardrail while driving on
Highway 52 about one mile north of Millville around 3 a.m. Saturday,
June 14.
While the tow truck was parked in the roadway hooking up to the
vehicle, an oncoming pickup truck swerved to miss the tow truck that
was in his lane and struck Clinton and his passenger, Daniel Rodriguez,
20, who were standing next to their car.
Both Rodriguez and Clinton were transported to Guttenberg Hospital,
with Clinton later being airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals in
Iowa City. Clinton died of his injuries yesterday, Tuesday, June 17.
The driver of the pickup, Scott Wille,27, was not hurt in the accident.

incident.
